Kamloops Council holding 'Open Meetings'??

Earlier this week - Kamloops Council, at the urging of the local Kamloops Voters' Society (KVS), voted to ask their City Staff to compile information on how many In-Camera Meetings Kamloops Council has held over the years and the fact that KVS believes the current Kamloops Council invoked the wrong section of the Community Charter to go In-Camera for its' recent Strategic Planning Session - read the Kamloops Daily News article here

Strategic Planning Session, as a rule, are In-Camera and I can not recall any complaints about their local government having a 'Strategic Planning Session' behind closed doors in other communities in BC.  In fact - I went over this topic myself on Feb 2nd which you can read here

In the meantime - Kamloops Council's lawfirm, after the In-Camera Meetings Number report is compiled, will write to the KVS explaining the legal mechanics around closed-door meeting of Kamloops Council as it relates to Strategic Planning Meetings'

Finally - Kamloops Mayor Peter Milobar did note that parts of the latest Strategic Planning Session was open to the public and no member of the general public bothered to attend and I wonder how much more patience Mayor Milobar will have for KVS as, since their formation mid-2011, been a political pain to him on issues like openness and the failed Lorne Street Parkade??
