Williams Lake Council Highlights - Nov 17th mtg

Present: Mayor W. Cobb and Councillors Boehm, Bonnell, Brenner, Ryll, Smith and Nelson (via teleconference)

Meeting called to order -- 6:00pm

Meeting Agenda adopted
Minutes of the WL City Council meeting held on November 3rd, 2020 and the Special Council meeting on November 10th, 2020 were both received/adopted

Delegations and/or Presentations - None

Business:   
 
1) Council received for information the accounts payable computer cheque and EFT listings dated October 30, November 5, 6 and 12, 2020

2)  Council approved entering into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Cariboo Friendship Society for their Lease of the “Longhouse” located in the Stampede Park to permit the temporary added use of COVID housing on the premises through May 31, 2021.

3) Development Approval Procedures Amendment Bylaw No. 2337, 2020 was introduced and given 1st, 2nd and 3rd Readings.  This amendment bylaw is a housekeeping measure to clarify processes and language of the new City of Williams Lake Development Approval Procedures Bylaw which was passed in October 2019

4) Council adopted Permissive Property Tax Exemption Bylaw No. 2342, 2020

5) Council received the Minutes of the Central Cariboo Joint Committee Meeting held October 28, 2020

6) Council received for information the letter from the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development - Water Management (FLNRORD) dated November 9, 2020 and attached Change Approval for City of Williams Lake File 5003029, authorizing the use of lake harvester equipment on areas of Williams Lake as specified in the letter from FLNRORD 

7) Council received the 'Council Information Package' as of November 17th, 2020 as follows:

* November 2, 2020 - Ministry of Children and Family Development re Celebrating November as Adoption Awareness Month

* November 10, 2020 - IHA Release re Surging COVID-19 Cases Throughout Region Becoming Concern

* November 12, 2020 - DWLBIA re 2020 Winter Lights Reverse Parade Registration Information

COVID-19 Update -- Mayor Cobb provided an update to Council
