In the BC Civil Liberty Association press release yesterday (see here), they reveal that Welcome to Williams Lake (http://www.welcometowilliamslake.ca/) was removed from the local RCMP media distribution list on July 28th, due in part to a story they ran on Nick Weekes & the Boot Cabaret at the time the City had, for a time, revoked his business license - see the email here
I personally find that action deplorable given that Welcome to Williams Lake is just as much a professional media organization as Williams Lake Tribune, Cariboo Advisor and the people who work at our local radio stations
It is my hope that the WL RCMP in the future (if they haven't already) will treat Welcome to Williams Lake on the same level as other media organizations in Williams Lake as media is media, no matter who works for these media organizations.
