Yesterday, the City of Williams Lake announced that it will hold a Public Consultation Meeting with regard to the 2011 Budget on March 10th, 2011 at 6pm in Williams Lake Council Chambers.
However, I think Williams Lake Council seriously erred in having the meeting at 6pm instead of 7 or 7:30pm for the following reasons:
* Most people are not even off work at 6pm, let alone have dinner at that point
* Most people outside of Williams Lake have a legitimate interest in City affairs, even though they don't reside in the City and as such, 6pm would be a hardship on them to make this meeting
The City should have had the meeting at 7pm or 7:30pm. Besides - if Williams Lake Council thinks that this is a good 2011 budget, then holding it an hour later is not a big deal.
