Implications of this locally could include possible impacts to both the WL Public Library & the Computer Access Center which is run by Nick Sardy. I've asked CRD Area 'D' Director Deb Bischoff to enquire with CRD Library Staff to see if this cut in CAP Funding Canada-wide has any impact on the local library's ability to provide free wireless internet access to the public
I hopeful that there'll be no impact to WL Public Library users, although it remains to be seen what, if any, impact the CAP funding cut will have on operations at the local Computer Access Centre. Although I understand the need to get the federal budget back into balance, I (like probably a lot of Canadians) am concerned about the end-impact of this decision for those who need to access the Internet and won't be able to due to cost, given moves by all governments to provide access to its' services online... especially with providing forms to access governments services...
I'll let you know more once I receive an answer from Director Bischoff...
