Delegation:
1) Dairy Lane Strata Park re: Request for Financial Assistance in Covering Cost of Water Leak Repairs
A representative from the Dairy Lane Strata Park appeared before Council to discuss their request for Financial Assistance regarding Water Leak Repairs
Following their presentation - A Question/Answer period ensued
The Mayor thanked the delegation for their presentation
Response to Delegations:
Council considered a report from the Manager of Public Works and after debate, agreed to the following Motion:
That the delegation representing the Dairy Lane Strata Park be received and pursuant to the report of the Manager of Public Works dated August 5, 2025, Council deny the request of the Strata for financial assistance toward the cost of water leak repairs at 2010 Third Avenue North
Business:
1) Council received for information the accounts payable computer cheque and EFT listings dated July 17, 24, 31, August 1 and 7, 2025
2) Council ratified email polls as follows:
* Proclaim the week of August 10 to 16, 2025 as “Pride! In the Puddle Week” in the City of Williams Lake and authorizing the Pride flag to be flown at City Hall on August 11th for the week, pursuant to City policy
* Receive the 2025 submission from the Williams Lake Public Art Committee and authorizing the selected project for the matching annual allocation of $5,000
3) Council agreed to waive Purchasing Policy No. 138 to approve a direct award for the purchase of a new control kiosk for the North Lakeside Lift Station to Northlands Water & Sewer Supplies for the purchase price of $89,613.96, plus applicable taxes
4) Council agreed to award the tender for the supply and installation of new airside fuel cabinets at the Williams Lake Regional Airport to Code Project Enterprise Ltd. for the purchase price of $343,873, including applicable taxes, and authorize the additional over expenditure of $52,000 from Airport Reserves
5) Council endorsed the display of “The Goalie” chainsaw carving, gifted to the City of Williams Lake by the District of Chetwynd, in the arena lobby of the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex and that a letter of thanks be provided to Mr. Allen Courtoreille - Mayor of Chetwynd, BC for the gift of the wood carving of behalf of the District of Chetwynd
6) Council proclaimed the following:
* week of September 15 to 21, 2025 be proclaimed as "Rail Safety Week"
* lights of City Hall be changed to purple on September 13, 2025 for "World Sepsis Day"
* August 6, 2025, September 10, 2025 be proclaimed as "World Suicide Prevention Day" in the City of Williams Lake, pursuant to City policy, and the lights be changed to orange on this day.
7) Council received the "Council Information Package" of August 12, 2025
The Corporate Officer, on behalf of the Chief Administrative Officer provided a verbal report to Council and responded to questions from Mayor/Council
