Local First Nations debate 'New Prosperity'

Earlier this week - the Alexis Creek Indian Band or Tsi Del Del put out a press release calling on Taseko Mines to quit using "desperate tactics" to get Ottawa's blessing for Taseko proposed "New Prosperity" Mine.  Read the full press release here

For his part -- Alexis Creek Band Chief Percy Guichon says “we have an issue with Taseko trying to portray Ervin Charleyboy as the spokesperson for the Tl’etinqox-T’in Nation which is unfounded and not true.”

Read more here but Ervin Charleyboy says the TNG (Tsilhqot'in National Government) should "Wake up and smell the coffee".  Read more here

Finally - TNG Tribal Chair Joe Alphonse writes to the Vancouver Sun today and says any facts supporting New Prosperity are "pure bunk" - read here

Expect the debate to get New Prosperity approved to get even hotter as we approach the exact public hearings and the provincial election on May 14th, 2013
