New Billy Barker statue at Quesnel Museum

From the City of Quesnel website:

Actually, he gets an entire makeover! The new Billy Barker statue was put in place today by the City's Public Works crew. He stands in front of the Quesnel Museum and Visitor Information Centre along the highway.

Made from a 600-year-old Western Red Cedar, Billy weighs in at approximately 800 lbs.

Pictured below are designer and muralist Dwayne Davis and carver Ken Sheen. Mr. Sheen said the carving consumed more than 200 hours. If you take a close look at the statue, you can certainly see why. It is a magnificent piece!
