CRD Committee of Whole Session - Nov 14th mtg

Present: Chair M.Wagner/Vice-Chair J. Massier and Directors M. Sjostrom, B. Bachmeier, S. Forseth, A. Delainey, M. LeBourdais, A. Richmond, J. Glassford, G. Kirby, C. Mernett, W. MacDonald, G. Fourchalk, M. Campsall and Alternate Directors L. Roodenburg (Quesnel) and J. Ryll (Williams Lake)

The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:00pm

The Chair acknowledged the meeting was taking place on traditional Northern Shuswap territory.  Reminded Directors' about keeping their mobile device in vibrate mode or to turn them off and welcomed Alternate Directors Roodenburg and Ryll (Quesnel/Williams Lake) to today’s Committee of the Whole meeting

Meeting agenda approved and minutes of the Committee of the Whole meeting held September 12th, 2019 were received/adopted

Delegations:

1) Representatives from Interior Health - Health Communities appeared before the Committee to provide follow up discussion from the NCLGA Resilient and Healthy Communities Forum, including what influences health of our communities, and partnering to promote healthier communities.

A Question/Answer period ensued

The Chair thanked the delegation for their time/information

Business:

The Committee discussed the following matters:

1) British Columbia Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) First Responder Program
2) Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for Independent Society Run Volunteer Fire Departments and provision of Grants for Assistance for Independent Fire Departments

3) OCP Impacts to Land Owners (resumed from September 12th COW Meeting)

Delegations, cont:

2) At 3:05pm - Chris van der Mark, School District #27 Superintendent of Schools, appeared before the Committee to talk about the changes being implemented by the School District

A Question/Answer period ensued

The Chair thanked Superintendent van der Mark for his time/information

Business, cont:

4) Joint Committee and Rural Caucus Terms of Reference

The Committee agreed to adjourn at 5:25pm
