Quesnel Council Highlights - Nov 5th mtg

Master Land Use Bylaw Revisions
The City is reviewing its Official Community Plan Bylaw and Zoning Bylaw, and public engagement is key! Public consultation is ongoing throughout the community through November and concludes at the public open house on November 21, 2019 from 4 pm to 8 pm at City Hall Council Chambers. The public is encouraged to get involved, to be more informed, and to take part in the dialogue around the draft Official Community Plan and the draft Zoning Bylaws. These Bylaws will shape the future vision of how our community will be developed and what it could look like out to 2030.
Where do I find the draft Official Community Plan Bylaw 1879 and Zoning Bylaw 1880?
  • Visit the City’s website at: www.quesnel.ca/ocp-and-zoning
  • Visit City Hall Reception area to view a hardcopy of these bylaws and corresponding large printed maps also displayed in the Reception area.
Where can submit my feedback of these bylaws to City staff?
  • There will a public Open House from 4 pm to 8 pm, Thursday, November 21, 2019 at City Hall Council Chambers.

November 5
Draft bylaws to Council for consideration, set consultation requirements, and timeline for bylaw approval.
Council gave First Reading of draft bylaws, set public consultation, set public open house, and set Public Hearing.
November 6-21
Draft bylaws out for consultation and review by community stakeholder groups and the public. Draft bylaws posted on the City’s website and hardcopies at City Hall Main reception area.
Link to the draft bylaws to be sent out to various organizations for review and comment and available online.
November 21
4 pm to 8 pm
City Hall Council Chambers
Community consultation public open house.
Open house to address questions, comments and concerns from public regarding the proposed new bylaws.
November 26
6 pm Regular Council Meeting at City Hall Council Chambers
Draft bylaws to Council to consider second reading as amended.
Any recommended amendments from public consultation proposed to Council with second reading as amended.
December 3
5 pm City Hall Council Chambers
Public Hearing
Final opportunity for public comment regarding draft bylaws
December 17
6 pm Regular Council Meeting at City Hall Council Chambers
Draft bylaws to Council to consider final adoption.
