Just back from the 2020 Tyee Lake Community Association's AGM/Community Picnic...
Although the community missed having Cariboo-North MLA Coralee Oakes there today, they know that she is working hard on their behalf...
Annual reports of the Tyee Lake Community Association President/Treasuer, Tyee Lake Fire Department Chief and myself as the Cariboo RD Area D Director were provided/well received. In my annual report to the community, they expressed concern about the Regional District's decision about Grant for Assistance opportunities for independent fire departments within the Cariboo Regional District but the battle was not over but the recent decision was just one step in the full battle to allow BC local governments to support unincorporated communities with local fire departments and advocacy would continue with the Provincial Government where this problem originated from and the solution must be found there...
Then a wonderful lunch was provided by Subway... although Mother Nature was a little uncooperative with the drizzle (and this after the sun made an appearance this morning and I had high hopes for a sunny community lunch at Tyee Lake)...
It is always a great day to spend a little time with the community of Tyee Lake who are doing great things and look forward to the next opportunity....
