Temporary Use Permit - ICON Homes – Hwy 97N

Council approved a 3-year Temporary Use Permit for Lot 1 District Lot 346 Cariboo District Plan 6073 so that Icon Homes Ltd. can operate a manufacturing business, temporarily, on this empty lot on Hwy 97 N. The lot will be used for manufacturing, servicing and storing modular office units.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 94 – Dock Project Assistance

Council agreed to assist the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 94 (The Legion) by providing short-term financing so that the Branch can complete a project to install a new dock at Legion Beach. The Legion has obtained multiple grants that will fully find the project for a total cost of approximately $93,500, however only some of the funds have been released to The Legion and they will not receive all of the grant funding until after the project is complete and final reports have been submitted. The City will be providing bridge financing to The Legion for a portion of the project cost at $53,500 so that they can complete the work required for the new dock.

UBCM Urban Communities Partnering for Reconciliation Grant Application

City Staff will be applying for the $10,000 Union of BC Municipalities grant under the Urban Communities Partnering for Reconciliation. The Urban Communities Partnering for Reconciliation (UCPR) pilot program is intended to support events and activities that provide a time and place for dialogue to build on opportunities, support reconciliation efforts, resolve issues of common responsibility, interest or concern, and/or to advance tangible outcomes. This grant is an opportunity for the City to leverage the upcoming Vulnerable Population Service and Housing Options Review by creating additional opportunities to present the options available to vulnerable persons once the review is completed.
