The City of Williams Lake would like to advise its citizens that the City is in no immediate danger as the closest substantial fire is 30 kilometers away. There is no need for panic.
There is a Smoke Advisory in place for Williams Lake and surrounding areas. The smoke concentrations will vary widely as winds, fire behaviour and temperatures change. This situation may persist for an extended period of time.
