Canada Day 2018

Courtesy of the Hon. John Horgan - Premier of British Columbia:

“Today, the Government of British Columbia joins people across the country who are coming together to celebrate Canada Day.

“As we celebrate this beautiful land, the values of diversity, inclusion and mutual respect, we also take the opportunity to learn more about our shared history.

“Our lives are enriched by the open spirit of Canada, the multicultural society we live in, and the people who have come together to help build this province and country.

“As we mark this day, we also recognize our shared responsibility to advance reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, who have lived on this land since time immemorial.

“Every person in B.C. and Canada has a role to play in reconciliation, to understand our shared history, and to work together to right historical wrongs.

“On Canada Day, our pledge to you is to keep working hard, every day, for you. Let’s celebrate now, and keep working together, for a better future for everyone in B.C.

“Happy Canada Day!”
