The City of Williams Lake invites the entire community for a thrilling Halloween night as it celebrates the 45th Annual Halloween Fireworks on Thursday, October 31 at the Williams Lake Stampede Grounds.

The free festivities kick off at 6:30 pm with a community favourite and annual tradition: hot dogs and hot chocolate served up by the Williams Lake Lions Club by donation. New this year, Halloween-themed games with prizes will be provided for children and youth to take part in prior to the fireworks.

Warm up by the bonfire starting at 7:15 pm behind the Stampede grandstand, leading up to the Halloween fireworks show at 7:45 pm.

Gates to the Stampede Grounds at Mackenzie Avenue and at 7th Avenue South will open at 6:15 pm, with Community Policing volunteers on site ensuring safe traffic flow to and from the event.

“The City’s annual Halloween Fireworks display is such a cherished community tradition, and we are pleased to carry it on year after year,” said Maria McKee, Adult Recreation Program Coordinator. “We invite families to join us in their costumes after trick-or-treating for a warm meal while supporting a great charity and enjoying the fireworks and bonfire.”

The City of Williams Lake would like to thank Tolko for donating wood for the bonfire, Williams Lake Community Policing for directing parking and managing traffic, the Williams Lake Stampede Association for use of the grounds and the Williams Lake Lions Club for their generous contributions to the annual celebration.

“We can’t wait to see everyone there for a night of fun, food and fantastic fireworks,” McKee said.
