City of WL CAO explains budget overrun for new Fire Hall

Over at Welcome to Williams Lake - City of Williams Lake CAO Brian Carruthers' responds to Councillor Rathor's concerns over the $500,000 budget overrun for the new Fire Hall

See here

Note - I'm looking forward to Mr. Carruthers' report later this month (and I suspect a fair number of residents') explaining the budget over-run.  It's regretable that residents' will have to now suffer through a higher than normal property tax rate increase because of this.  Don't be too surprised if WL Council says they need to rise property taxes by 5% or more to cover this budget overrun in addition to the budget needs of the City during 2011.  This in top of the $22,000 tax hike from all 12 Rural Areas & 4 Muncipalities and their taxpayers' to pay for Wells' Director to come to Williams Lake for CRD Board meetings, even though Wells was told no in 2003 by Quesnel, Williams Lake and 100 Mile House Councils'
