The Quesnel Cariboo Observer reports that Cariboo Regional District (CRD) Area 'C' Director John Massier is warning residents' that, unless the number of volunteer firefighters at Barlow Cr VFD (Volunteer Fire Department) goes up soon, it is possible that the Barlow Creek Fire Department could be forced to shut down. There is a "Mutual Aid" agreement between Barlow Creek VFD and 10 Mile VFD to sustain fire services in the Barlow Creek area.
Meanwhile - CRD Chair (and Area 'G' Director) Al Richmond calls on those in the Barlow Creek area to “search their souls” to maintain the Barlow Creek VFD

If you have the capacity to serve either on the local Search and Rescue or Volunteer Fire Department - I would strongly encourage to do so especially as CRD Area 'C' Director John Massier says -- your training is paid for already and will give you valuable skills to use in future job opportunities
