Funding Options for Woodland Dr Water/Sewer

On Tuesday - WL Council (without Mayor Cook present) will discuss the following recommendation from Committee of the Whole:

That pursuant to Committee of Whole Council Report #08-2012, the report of the Chief Administrative Officer dated February 1, 2012 be received and Council authorize Staff to investigate and recommend a process to engage the Woodland Drive residents in a workshop to discuss the options available to the Woodland Drive residents & WL Council with respect to the provisions of water and sewer services for Woodland Drive. - read the report here

For the record -- Mayor Cook will recuse herself as she is a resident' of Woodland Drive

I'm glad to see this as the options to fund water/sewer infrastructure on Woodland Dr are limited, especially if the idea of pursuing a grant is "off the table"

Outside a grant -- the options to the City are, in my opinion, deplete the City's Water/Sewer reserve accounts, establish a "local area tax" or borrow funds to complete the project

I'm hopefully that this workshop will be done ASAP so residents' can receive safe/reliable water/sewer in a timely manner and hopefully this year, if at all possible...
