Yesterday marked the "30 day" mark to file a Campaign Finance Statement for the last round of local general elections for municipal councils', Regional Districts (Electoral Area Directors) and Boards' of Education. This applies to both elected and defeated candidates
The deadline to file is on Monday, March 19th. Between March 19th - April 19th, you can still file your campaign financial statement but you will have to pay a $500.00 late filing fee
After April 19th - the local Chief Election Officer will file a report with the local Board of Education, Regional District and Municipal Council of those individuals or elector organizations who did not file a Campaign Finance Statement and thus will be prohibited from running in the October 18th, 2014 Civic General Election, as per Section 92.2 of the Local Government Act
