Update #2 on Puntzi Lake Fire

Courtesy of the BC Wildfire Service:

The wildfire burning on the northwest side of Puntzi Lake, about 130 kilometres west of Williams Lake, has grown to approximately 1,200 hectares in size.

Crews and heavy equipment operators worked overnight to establish a control line along the south flank of the fire. The BC Wildfire Service currently has 76 firefighters, three helicopters, airtankers and eight pieces of heavy equipment on scene today.

The wildfire is still exhibiting aggressive fire behaviour and challenging suppression efforts. Increased winds are expected in the area this afternoon.
