Wildfire on West Side of Puntzi Lake

BC Wildfire Service crews are responding to a wildfire burning on the west side of Puntzi Lake, about 130 kilometres west of Williams Lake.

The wildfire is exhibiting aggressive fire behaviour and is approximately 500 hectares in size. There are structures in the area and airtankers are working hard to protect them.

The BC Wildfire Service has airtankers, three helicopters and 22 firefighters currently on scene. Additional resources are being sent to the fire including 50 firefighters and eight pieces of heavy equipment. Crews will be working on this fire through the night.
