West Fraser Mills donates to the Quesnel Fire Department

Courtesy of the City of Quesnel:

A recent donation to the Quesnel Fire Department has given firefighters added ability to help in emergency situations and to help free trapped motorists.

Local West Fraser Mills donated a set of Jaws of Life, set of Pneumatic Air Bags and a firefighting water monitor. The set of pneumatic air bags will enable us to save lives by rescuing victims from underneath vehicles or other heavy equipment. This is an extremely useful tool as it can be inserted into narrow opening where most other tools will not fit.

Members of the Quesnel Fire Department were very excited about the donation of this equipment and are very thankful to West Fraser Mills for their generosity.

Sylvain Gauthier - City of Quesnel Fire Chief/Director of Emergency Services - said:

This equipment will greatly increase our capabilities to help rescue people who could be trapped in their vehicle or under heavy equipment

While Jim Scott, General Manager of WestPine MDF went on to say:

We are pleased to make this donation in recognition of the support and outstanding commitment the Quesnel Fire Department members have provided to all local West Fraser mills and to the community over the years.
