World Mental Health Day 2019

Today is World Mental Health Day.  First celebrated in 1992 - this day was created to bring attention to mental illness and its major effects on peoples' life worldwide.  More at Wikipedia here

This year's Theme is Focus on Suicide Prevention.  More on this from the World Health Organization here.  Also - the Canadian Mental Health Association - BC Division - has some good tips to maintain good mental health here

As I noted on Facebook - people like Coquitlam Mayor Richard Stewart has been an excellent advocate for the idea that we should treat maintaining our mental health just as much, if not more, than our physical health.  Thank you, Richard, for your advocacy on this item.  It is truly appreciated.  We know that you are one of many advocates that calls on society to remove the stigma around mental health and I know your advocacy on this topic along with many others will continue - long after today is over!
