Committee of the Whole (WL Council) - August 18th mtg

 Present: Mayor W. Cobb (Chair); Councillors Boehm, Bonnell, Brenner, Nelson, Ryll and Smith

Meeting called to order at 6:05pm

Meeting Agenda adopted and Minutes of the Committee of the Whole meetings held June 9th and the Special Committee of the Whole meeting held on July 14th were received/adopted

Delegation:

Jeff Pelley, RCMP Inspector/Detachment Commander appeared before the Committee to present the July 2020 Police Commission report

A Question/Answer period ensued

The Chair, on behalf of the Committee, thanked Inspector Pelley for his presentation

Business:

The Committee reviewed the the following matters:

1) Letter from Hamilton Hotel regarding taxation and municipal concerns

2) City of Williams Lake 2021 Budget/Financial Plan Timeline & Direction

Following discussions, the Committee resolved the following:

1) That the Committee of the Whole recommend:

Council target a 0% tax increase budget for 2021 along with no increases to the Water/Sewer Rates in 2021, no increases to Staffing and that discussions occur about how to generate additional revenue for the 2021 budget
