Milo Macdonald to join Fort St John as its' CAO

Courtesy of the City of Williams Lake:

After nearly four years as the City of Williams Lake's Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Milo Macdonald has accepted the position of CAO at the City of Fort St. John.

Following his very successful career with the RCMP over the last 20 years, the City has been fortunate to benefit from Milo’s professionalism, knowledge, and ability to build relationships during his tenure at the City.

“Milo has provided Council and staff with dedicated leadership since he took on his position,” said Williams Lake Mayor Walt Cobb. “We will miss his approachable, calm manner and his in-depth knowledge of policing issues in particular. Although I am disappointed, I wish him all the best in his new challenges.”

Milo stated, “what I am most proud of during my time at the City is the strong team we have built. I have enjoyed working with Council and staff to move the City forward, and have no doubt that great things will continue at the City of Williams Lake.”

While Milo, his wife Lori, and two sons are sad to leave the place they have called home for many years, they are looking forward to returning to Fort St. John, where Milo served on the RCMP for a decade.

Milo’s last day will be September 4, 2020.

Not sorry to see MacDonald go as he is a one trick pony focused on policing. Insp Pelley is more than capable of doing his job without city interference. The City of Williams Lake's morale has collapsed under MacDonald's watch as the internal issues have been ignored. The team he built is just a clique of managers and "trusted employees" who validate each others actions and ignored massive employee turnover which costs taxpayers. Hopefully MacDonald's replacement will be there because of their abilities not for their political connections.
