A water main break was identified on Hodgson Road near the truck wash station and Wotzke Drive intersection on January 10, 2021. During repair work, two additional breaks were discovered.
These water breaks were interrupting the filling of the Woodland Drive reservoir, and affected properties in the Westridge and Golf Course subdivisions.
Repairs have been made and the line was re-pressurized in the early evening of January 12, 2021. A Boil Water Advisory remains for customers in the Westridge and Golf Course subdivisions, Terra Ridge and along Wotzke Drive and Hodgson Road. They are advised to heat water to a rolling boil for 2 minutes before using for drinking, brushing teeth, and making ice or beverages.
Results for potability testing are expected next week. Until two sets of potability samples are confirmed, the City, in conjunction with Interior Health, will maintain the boil water advisory in the affected areas. A media release will be issued once the advisory is lifted.
Customers may experience off colour water or air from the re-pressurization of the water main. If this occurs, please run your cold water until it clears.
The City apologizes for this service interruption and would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding through this event.
