City of Williams Lake Accepting Applications for COVID Hardship Grants for 2022

The City of Williams Lake is offering 20 grants in the amount of $1,250 each for non-profit community organizations that have experienced hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. To be considered, non-profit organizations must be located within or directly benefit Williams Lake.

“We are pleased to be able to offer COVID Hardship Grants again in 2022,” said Williams Lake Mayor Walt Cobb. “We were able to support a number of non-profit organizations in 2021, and I would like to acknowledge the Province of British Columbia for providing COVID-19 Safe Restart Grant funding for local governments.”

In order to qualify for a COVID Hardship Grant, the applicant must:

• Be a registered non-profit organization

• Demonstrate financial need and hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic

• Provide a service that serves the residents and supports the priorities of the City

Services, projects or events proposed by applicants must not:

• Support ongoing normal operations, wages, expenses of the requesting organizations

• Offer direct financial assistance to individuals or families

• Duplicate or replace services that fall within the mandate of senior levels of government or local service agency

• Support a Provincial or National fundraising campaign

• Be of a commercial nature

Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis and can be submitted to corporateservices@williamslake.ca or delivered to Williams Lake City Hall at 450 Mart Street.
