The northern reaches of Electoral Area B (Strathnaver, Dunkley) of the Cariboo Regional District receive their Fire Protection Services through the Hixon Volunteer Fire Department (HVFD), a service of the Regional District of Fraser Fort George. The HVFD is in dire need of volunteers. It must have a minimum of 15 active responding firefighters whereas the current roster shows only 8 members.
If you live in the area served by the HVFD, please consider getting involved. A community meeting has been planned for July 8th at 7 pm
