Yesterday - Bernard von Schulmann on his blog BC Iconoclast looks at the future leadership direction of the BC Conservative Party, in light of their performance in both the 40th BC General Election and the recent by-election in Westside-Kelowna where Christy Clark easily won election over the NDP by a factor of 2 to 1 and that of the BC Conservative candidate. Read that blog post here
I would offer that they would want someone with political experience but still young enough to run several election campaigns which eliminates a Paul Forseth but leaves people like Scott Anderson and Sean Upshaw as possible options, but we know for certain this fall. One thing for sure, the BC Conservative Party must re-invent itself as a 'centrist' party that the majority of BC'ers can support otherwise, the Conservative will remain as a fringe party that attracts no more than 5% of votes cast in any by-election or general election in British Columbia
Meanwhile - the BC Liberals are firmly in control as the governing party in BC and will remain so as long as the NDP has Adrian Dix as its' Leader and John Cummins remains as Leader of the BC Conservative Party
