#Quesnel additional facility closures and service modifications

The City of Quesnel is implementing additional facility closures and service modifications as we continue to review operations in response to COVID-19.
These measures are intended to further mitigate the spread of COVID-19 while ensuring essential services are maintained.
In addition to closing all recreation facilities, City Hall and the Bylaw and Public Works Offices will be closed to the public as of 4:30 pm today (March 20, 2020) until further notice.
City Staff will continue to work and be available by phone or appointment only. Please utilize online payment options through your bank or drop-off payment in the mailbox at City Hall. City Staff will be following the provincial guidelines with sanitizing and social distancing. City Hall and Bylaw can be reached at 250-992-2111 and Public Works can be reached at 250-992-6330.
The following services will be modified:
  • Cemetery bookings – By appointment only, please phone City Hall at 250-992-2111.
  • Bulk Water – All accounts will be enabled to be used without prepayment. Large accounts will be invoiced monthly; smaller accounts will be required to pay their account balance when City Hall reopens.
  • Building Department– Building inspections or inquiries can be made by email at  or by phone at 250-991-7461.
  • Planning Department – Planning inquiries (signs, development permits, variances, subdivisions, etc.) can be made by email at  or by phone at 250 991-7459.
  • Bylaw Services – Complaints can be made through the City website at www.quesnel.ca/bylaw-enforcement, by email at  or by phone at 250-992-2111.
Services that are continuing to operate as normal include: residential and commercial garbage collection, the Quesnel Landfill and Quesnel Recycling Centre.
