Reopening of #Quesnel playgrounds and amenities

The City of Quesnel will be reopening playgrounds and some amenities in a phased approach within the coming weeks.
The following recreation sites and amenities will be reopening in addition to the skate park, tennis and pickleball courts, dog park, trails, and bike parks which are already open for public use:
  • Playgrounds – opening Monday, June 8
  • Washrooms – opening Monday, June 8
    • LeBourdais Park - Public washrooms will be available at Shiraoi House only. The exterior Museum and Visitor Centre washroom will remain closed.
    • West Fraser Timber Park
  • Baseball and sports fields, including the beach volleyball court – opening Monday, June 8
    • For casual use only.
    • Any organized sports/groups will need to operate within the guidelines established by their Provincial organization before they resume activities. Access to playing venues will not be given until an approved “Safe Return to Play” plan is provided to the City.
  • Spray Park – opening Monday, June 15
The City of Quesnel will not be cleaning or disinfecting outdoor amenities, including all playgrounds and the spray park. The usage of any playground or equipment is done so at your own risk.
Users of any public areas, equipment or washrooms should also follow the below actions to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19):
  • Practice social distancing and ensure to remain 2-metres apart at all times.
    • Note – Social distancing of younger children/youth at a public park and/or playground is based on parental discretion. Adults from different households are to remain 2-metres apart at all times.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly.
  • Use at your own risk (the City of Quesnel will not be cleaning or disinfecting outdoor amenities).
  • Where possible, try not to share equipment.
