Central Cariboo Rural Directors' Caucus Highlights - Jan 26th, 2022 mtg

Present: 

Directors S. Forseth, A. Delainey, M. LeBourdais and G. Kirby

Meeting called to order at 3:00pm by the Deputy Corporate Officer - L. Schick

The Deputy Corporate Officer called for nominations for the position of Chair - Central Cariboo Rural Directors' Caucus for 2022:

Director Forseth nominated Director LeBourdais

After 3 calls for nominations for the position of Chair - Central Cariboo Rural Directors' Caucus for 2022 and receiving no further nominations -- the Deputy Corporate Officer declared Director LeBourdais as Chair - Central Cariboo Rural Directors' Caucus for 2022, by acclamation. 

Director LeBourdais assumed the Chair at 3:01pm

The Chair recognized that Caucus was conducting its' business on the traditional territory of both Williams Lake First Nation and the Tsilhqot'in Nation

Agenda:

The Agenda was approved with late items from the Chair/Director Forseth and the Manager of Community Services, as follows:

1) Communications to Dawson Road Maintenance regarding road maintenance (Dir. Forseth)

2) 2022 Local Road Projects in Area "F" (Chair LeBourdais)

3) Big Lake Heritage Site/NDIT Application (CRD Mgr of Community Services)

Minutes:

Caucus approved the minutes of their meeting held November 24th, 2021

Business:

1) Appointment of 2022 Co-Chair for Central Cariboo Joint Committee

Caucus had before it a report from the Deputy Corporate Officer 

Discussion ensued thereon... 

Resolved - That Director S. Forseth be appointed as the CRD Co-Chair of the Central Cariboo Joint Committee for 2022

2) Central Cariboo Appointments for 2022

Caucus had before it a report from the Deputy Corporate Officer 

Discussion ensued thereon... 

Resolved - That it be recommended to the Regional Board:

That the following Central Cariboo Community Committee appointments be made for 2022:

* Central Cariboo Arts/Culture Society and WL /District Chamber of Commerce -- Director Forseth

* Williams Lake Air Quality Roundtable -- Director LeBourdais

* UNBC South Central Advisory Committee -- Director Delainey

3) Discussion Items:

Caucus held a discussion on the following matters

a) Public Communications to Dawson Road Maintenance regarding local road maintenance (Dir. Forseth)

b) 2022 Local Road Projects in Area "F" (Chair LeBourdais)

c) Big Lake Heritage Site/NDIT Application (CRD Mgr of Community Services)

Following discussion -- the following Resolution was brought forward out of the discussions, at the request of the Chair:

Resolved - That it be recommended to the Regional Board:

That a letter be forwarded to the BC Ministry of Transportation/Cariboo District requesting confirmation of local road projects in the Central Cariboo-Chilcotin going forward in 2022
