Mr. Rathor ran for Mayor of Williams Lake in both the 2014 and 2018 City of Williams Lake Local General Elections and lost to current Williams Lake Mayor Walt Cobb
Mayor Cobb has already confirmed to local media his full intention to seek a 3rd term as Mayor of Williams Lake (in addition to the 2 terms he served as Mayor of Williams Lake from 1990-1996). If re-elected on October 15th, 2022 and completes the full 2022-2026 term -- he will be the longest serving Mayor of Williams Lake at 18 years plus his years of service as a Williams Lake Alderman (Councillor) in the 1980's
No others have made public announcements seeking election/re-election as Williams Lake Mayor or Councillor. The formal nomination period commences from August 30th - September 9th, 2022 with General Voting Day as Saturday, October 15th, 2022...

Wonderful news. Cobb has embarrassed the residents of Williams Lake long enough! It's time for real change. His tired old tough on crime agenda is nothing but a thinly veiled attack on non-whites, not a way to move this community forward. Bullying only builds resentment. Let's hope Surinder's tenacity pays off this time and citizens realize that what we truly need is someone who is willing to work with and recognize and cooperate with all levels of government and First Nations. It is way past time.
