Mayor Cook & Grad 2010 Ceremonies

On Saturday June 5th, Grad 2010 ceremonies were held at the Cariboo Memorial Complex for Columneetza Secondary and Williams Lake Secondary. As is tradition, these ceremonies include speeches from various dignitaries including the School Principal, the local School District Board Chair and the Mayor or their alternates

Unfortunately, as I'm told, Mayor Cook used the opportunity to promote herself and not to congratulate the work of the graduates and to encourage them to follow their dreams and to work hard towards their goals.

There is a time and place for such "political" speeches - in Council Chambers, during election campaigns, like in 2011 when Mayor Cook and the 6 City Councillors' will be up for re-election and political conventions, like UBCM, FCM, NCLGA
