At 11:00am until noon today, the Premier gave the usual keynote address at the last day of the UBCM conference. Major topics in his speech included:
* Harmonized Sales Tax - why the tax must stay & apologized for the roll-out of the tax
* Transit in Metro Vancouver
* 2010 Vancouver Olympics
* Community Planning - Smart Growth & Smart Communities
* $ 1 million to 3 Pine Beetle Communities
* Prosperity Mine must proceed
* First Nations true partners in resource extraction sector (mining, forestry,) and tourism
* Rural Resource Roads to be maintained
* Support for 2015 Canada Winter Games
* $ 1 million to BC communities for cultural live sites / Olympic Live sites
