With all of the provincial political news these past few weeks including today's news that Carole James is stepping down as Leader of the BC NDP, it's hard to forget that we have a local by-election occuring right now.
As most know - Duncan Barnett quit as the Cariboo Regional District Electoral Area 'F' Director after Thanksgiving in October, forcing a by-election to be held. The period where candidate can submit papers for candidancy as the Electoral Area 'F' Director started on November 30th and expires at 4pm on Friday, December 10th
As of 1:14pm Monday, Dec 6th - I'm advised by Alice Johnston, CRD Chief Election Officer for the Electoral Area 'F' By-Election that only Joan Sorley, Alternate Director for Electoral Area 'F', has filed papers as a candidate for the Electoral Area 'F' Directorship
I'm told that as many as two others are looking seriously at filing for the Electoral Area 'F' Directorship as well. We'll know official numbers on Friday evening
