From the City of Williams Lake:
A public information meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 15th at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall in Council Chambers to update the community on the concept of an indoor turf facility in Williams Lake.
An indoor turf facility has been consistently identified as a much needed recreational asset in the community and the Central Cariboo Joint Committee commissioned a feasibility study for such a facility in 2010.
This meeting is an important step in the process by gauging support from the public and major user groups for the project. A review of the Indoor Turf Facility Feasibility Study and activities to date will be followed by a discussion on how the project should be moved forward and what role the user groups and community can play in making an indoor turf facility a reality.
“We’ve heard from the community for a number of years that an indoor turf facility is something that is really needed,” says Mayor Kerry Cook. “What we require now is a commitment from those who support the project to assist with planning the facility and communicating with the community.”
A copy of the Indoor Turf Feasibility Study is available on the City website, attached to this release under the “What’s New” section.
