Fall Election Speculation

Earlier this week - former NDP MLA and regular political pundant David Schreck commented on the possibility of a fall provincial election and which ridings are weak for both BC Liberals and BC NDP and what a magic number would be for the NDP to get elected, whether now (fall), in 2012 or by the mandated next election date of May 12th, 2013.  See Mr. Schreck's analysis here

My own view is that the possibility of a fall election is out the window, given BC Premier Clark has scheduled a fall sitting of the BC Legislature in October, a trade tour to Asia (India/China) and the results of the HST Referendum vote won't be known at least until August 25th.  In addition, the heavy debt situation in both the US/Europe lead me to believe that a fall vote is out of the question.  More likely scenario would see a provincial vote in 2012, likely Fall of 2012.  I just can not see Ms. Clark gambling the BC Liberals hold on power, just after the HST vote and given the weak situations in the US/Europe when waiting a year may improve her electoral chances
