Joint Release from the City of Quesnel/Cariboo Regional District:
The North Cariboo Multi-Centre Fundraising Committee has hired a Fundraising Campaign Coordinator to lead the City of Quesnel and Cariboo Regional District (CRD) through the process of implementing a corporate and community fundraising campaign.
Wylie Bystedt will be formally introduced to the North Cariboo Joint Planning Committee on tonight (Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 5;30pm) in Council Chambers. Bystedt was the co-ordinator for the very successful 2010 Winter Games Torch Relay event in Quesnel, and the fundraising coordinator for the North Cariboo Community Campus.
“Moving forward on the North Cariboo Multi-Centre funding is a priority for the City of Quesnel, one we’re very excited and optimistic about” said Quesnel Mayor Mary Sjostrom. “The fundraising committee, made up of members from the City of Quesnel, Cariboo Regional District and the community, has made a great choice. We look forward to an outstanding fundraising campaign.”
“The Cariboo Regional District is committed to moving ahead on issues that are important to the North Cariboo and the region,” said Vice-Chair Ted Armstrong of the Cariboo Regional District. “With the fundraising coordinator now in place, we will be able to advance many of the committee plans.”
“Wylie brings experience not only from having worked on other large fundraising projects, but on other business and marketing projects,” added Eric Wickham, Chair of the North Cariboo Multi-Centre Fundraising Committee. “Her knowledge of the community and region will be tremendous assets as we wind our way through a corporate and grassroots fundraising campaign.”
The fundraising committee will now wrap up its fundraising plan and prepare for an exciting campaign kick-off.
In addition to Sjostrom and Armstrong, CRD Area C Director John Massier and Quesnel Councillor Laurey-Anne Roodenburg are active representatives on the Multi-Centre fundraising committee.
Bystedt can be reached at 250-992-3524, working out of the Quesnel Community and Economic Development Corporation’s office. More information about the project can be found at www.ourmulticentre.ca
