Earlier today - the Vancouver Sun ran a story where an informal group of 6 BC Conservative Party Regional Directors including my uncle Alan Forseth from Kamloops issued a formal statement of support for beleaguered BC Conservative Party Leader John Cummins
Meanwhile -- Don Irwin, BC Conservative Regional Director for Peace River made the following interesting statement to the Sun:
He and the other five directors who released the statement were approached because they had expressed their support privately, and Cummins asked them to make it formally known.
In my opinion, Irwin's statement to the Vancouver Sun has diluted the intended effect of the public statement from "We want to show independent support for John Cummins" to "John asked us to" which now makes the statement politically meaningless which now shows a split governing body for the BC Conservatives with just a few months before the BC Conservatives' must have 85 candidates ready (as they've previously indicated they would do for the 2013 BC Election) and as BC Liberal Chilliwack MLA John Les says in the Globe and Mail:
"If there is a real implosion, clearly some of those people who have notionally parked their support with the B.C. Conservatives, maybe it will make it easier for them to come back to the B.C. Liberal Party.”
