In his column today - Vancouver Province columnist Gordon Clark argues for reasons why the public should accept the very politicians we elect.

Politics, which once at least tried to be about public service and developing good policies for fellow citizens, is now a blood sport played by far too many career politicians, often with few academic or real-world accomplishments and beholden to special-interest backers.
And so we have a premier who didn't finish university, an opposition leader who's had almost no work life outside politics and a justice/finance minister with a community college diploma. No one better qualified - or actually qualified - wants the job
