100K Club grows at WL City Hall

As I noted yesterday, WL City Council will receive its 2013 SOFI or Statement of Financial Information Report which includes pay/expenses for itself and that of its Staff at its Tuesday meeting.  This blog post will look at WL City Staff pay/expenses.  See the full report here

For starters - the amount of money paid to those earning under $75,000 in 2011 was $5,350,896.76 and 2012 - it is $4,980,009.95.  However - total paid to City Staff (Salary) in 2012 was $7,166,358.79 however in 2011 (Salary) - this amount was $6,796,523.64

For the infamous "$100,000 Club" - in 2011, only 6 City Staff Members qualified, namely the positions of CAO, Director of Municipal Services, GM of Planning and Operations, Director of Financial Services, Director of Protective Services (Fire Chief), and Director of Community Services

In 2012 - this same club grew by 2 to include 8 positions which includes the CAO, GM of Planning and Operations, Director of Financial Services, Director of Protective Services (Fire Chief), Director of Municipal Services, Director of Recreation and Community Services, Fire Prevention Training Officer, and Fire Prevention Inspector

Must be nice to get a 20% wage increase. Wow.

Would be intertesting to know how two union positions jumped that much in one year and made "the list"?? Fairly sure that the contract was only for 2% or something like that.

I think the city needs to be reminded that we are a small town of 10-12000 people. How can we justify that these 8 people combined make a million bucks/year plus benefits.
