For starters - the amount of money paid to those earning under $75,000 in 2011 was $5,350,896.76 and 2012 - it is $4,980,009.95. However - total paid to City Staff (Salary) in 2012 was $7,166,358.79 however in 2011 (Salary) - this amount was $6,796,523.64
For the infamous "$100,000 Club" - in 2011, only 6 City Staff Members qualified, namely the positions of CAO, Director of Municipal Services, GM of Planning and Operations, Director of Financial Services, Director of Protective Services (Fire Chief), and Director of Community Services
In 2012 - this same club grew by 2 to include 8 positions which includes the CAO, GM of Planning and Operations, Director of Financial Services, Director of Protective Services (Fire Chief), Director of Municipal Services, Director of Recreation and Community Services, Fire Prevention Training Officer, and Fire Prevention Inspector

Please note for the position of CAO in 2012 - Brian Carruthers took a 60 day leave in June of 2012 and then resigned his position as CAO in September of 2012 to take on the role of CAO for the Regional District of Central Kootenay. Also - it is my understanding that while Geoff Goodall takes on the role of Acting CAO - he is entitled to a pay hike for every month that he is Acting CAO

Must be nice to get a 20% wage increase. Wow.
Would be intertesting to know how two union positions jumped that much in one year and made "the list"?? Fairly sure that the contract was only for 2% or something like that.
I think the city needs to be reminded that we are a small town of 10-12000 people. How can we justify that these 8 people combined make a million bucks/year plus benefits.
