Yesterday and in April - all members of Quesnel Council except Councillor Sushil Thapar were served with legal documents demanding that they personally cover the roughly $170,000 final severance payment to former Quesnel City Manager (CAO) John Stecyk, as per Section 191 of the Community Charter

Finally - there a number of affidavits that were filed in respect of this Court action by Councillors Thapar, Roodenburg, Elliot, Brisco and Coleman. Mayor Sjostrom, as of this writing, had not filed an affidavit in respect of this case but expect that she will prior to a BC Supreme Court Justice considering the case. Affidavits are also filed by those putting this lawsuit forward. All of the affidavits can not be viewed by the general public at this time
The parties have agreed that 1 day is necessary for the consideration of this case. After that, it will just be the time required for the BC Supreme Court Justice to write his or her ruling
