30 days from today -- voters in Wells, Quesnel, Williams Lake, 100 Mile House and the rural areas of the Regional District will proceed to vote for new Mayors', Councillors', Electoral Area Directors' in CRD Areas A, B, E, F, J, K and L plus School Trustees in SD#28 (Quesnel) plus School Trustees for Zones 2,4,5,6 and 7 in School District #27 (Cariboo-Chilcotin)
The list of candidates is currently in the "unofficial" state until the candidate challenge/withdrawal period has expired on Friday at 4pm. After 4pm, on Monday, September 24th - the Chief Election Officers' for Wells, Quesnel, Williams Lake, 100 Mile House, Cariboo Regional District (Electoral Area Directors') and School Districts' #28 (Quesnel) and #27 (Cariboo-Chilcotin) will release the official candidate list along with a declaration that a candidate is elected by acclamation or that an election by voting is required with the required details around days of advanced and general voting and locations thereto
I also expect that there will be All Candidates Forums scheduled for candidates running for local public office in the first 7 to 10 days in October so stay tuned for those details in your local community. In addition, I expect candidates will be hitting the doorsteps in very short order as it is 21 days today until the 1st Advanced Vote on Wednesday, October 10th for the 2018 Local Elections so please stay tuned to your local election, wherever you live, so you can cast an informed vote for the person that will best represent you - whether as Mayor, Councillor, School Trustee or Electoral Area Director!
