Rathor vs Cobb for Williams Lake Mayor - Oct 2018 Election

Yesterday - former Williams Lake City Councillor Surinderpal Rathor (1993-2014) announced a 2nd bid to become Williams Lake Mayor - click here while current Williams Lake Mayor Walt Cobb previously announced last December that he would indeed seek a 2nd term - click here

Both of these gentlemen have not indicated their platforms but the voter can expect that those details will come out in the weeks ahead until General Voting Day on Saturday, October 20th.  Meanwhile - just 115 votes separated these two in the 2014 City of Williams Lake General Election in which Walt Cobb was the victor.  The 2018 Nomination Period is currently active and concludes at 4pm sharp! on Friday, September 14th, 2018

As I said on Facebook yesterday evening -- if these two are confirmed as the only two candidates for the Office of Mayor - City of Williams Lake - We would have to turn our minds back to the 1990's to observe the last time City voters were asked to choose among two people to become the Mayor of the City of Williams Lake

Meanwhile - a look at Mayors' races elsewhere in the Region:

Wells - currently unknown

Quesnel - no challengers yet to incumbent Mayor Bob Simpson and he has already indicated to Black Press that he would indeed seek re-election for a 2nd term in October

100 Mile House - incumbent Mayor Mitch Campsall is seeking re-election (4th term, if re-elected) while former BC Green Party candidate (2017 BC Provincial Election) Rita Giesbrecht is wishing to become Mayor of 100 Mile House - click here

Rumor has it that former Mayor Kerry Cook is also considering a run for Mayor.
