Community Projects at Tyee Lake & McLeese Lake...

Residents' of Tyee Lake conducting a
Groundbreaking Ceremony for their
Community Building....
Last Wednesday evening at Tyee Lake - both Cariboo-North MLA Coralee Oakes and I were present as members of the Tyee Lake community, some 42 minutes north of Williams Lake, held a simple groundbreaking ceremony for their Community Building which will serve as a dual role as a local community hall and a central place to store assets of the Tyee Lake Fire Department - a project that has been many, many years in the making...

It is hoped that construction, once provincial road bans come off, can commence in May with a hope for completion by June

Meanwhile - a little further north at McLeese Lake -- plans for a Fire Hall there are still progressing and in my discussions with the McLeese Lake VFD Society -- they are still hopeful that their Fire Hall project can still proceed in 2019

If one or both of these projects are completed in 2019 -- it will be a very great day for Cariboo Regional District Area 'D'.... many thanks to community members for donating their time/talents for making these projects happen.

Meanwhile - I still work with the communities of Tyee Lake/McLeese Lake to find external grants, in addition to local fundraised money, to make these community projects more solid assets for the communities of Tyee Lake/McLeese Lake...
