Todd Doherty hosts Williams Lake Town Hall Meeting!

Todd Doherty, MP for Cariboo-Prince George
Last night, about 30 people took in a Town Hall meeting hosted by Todd Doherty, Member of Parliament for Cariboo-Prince George up at the Thompson Rivers University campus, here in Williams Lake

I was able to ask a question on behalf of my Regional District colleagues in regards to more federal financial support for FireSmart programming for our rural communities.  He has agreed to bring this forward.... the Province of BC has made money available for forest fuel management but with only $60 million available over 3 years and the estimated cost to properly do the work estimated in the billions of dollars, we simply must have the federal government step up to the plate and provide financial resources and take the attitude of "prevention rather than reaction"

Other topics raised include:

* Bill C-211/PTSD
* Carbon Tax
* Service Canada Operating Hours in Williams Lake
