Forestry Initiatives Program – 2020 Annual Report

Council was provided a summary of 2020 key achievements accomplished by the City’s Forestry Initiatives Program.  A summary of these key achievements are:

  • Progress towards achieving a Community Forest
  • FireSmart and Community Wildfire Protection Plan
  • Landscape Management and Ecosystem Restoration
  • Labour Force Re-Development
  • Manufacturing Analysis and Business Case Development
  • Increasing Forestry Initiatives Program Strength and Resilience

2024 BC Winter Games Bid

Council approved City staff to submit a bid package to the BC Games Society for the City of Quesnel, in partnership with Lhtako Dene Nation and support from the Cariboo Regional District, to host the 2024 BC Winter Games. 

Airport Hanger – Capital Investment Analysis Grant Application

Council approved City staff to submit a grant application to the Northern Development Initiative Trust Capital Investment Analysis funding program for the Airport Hangar Investment Analysis Project (“Project”).  This Project will provide a business case and estimated expected cash flow of a new hangar, assess the riskiness of those flows, determine the need for a new airport hangar, estimate the appropriate opportunity cost of capital, and determine the project’s profitability and breakeven characteristics.
