The City of Quesnel is pleased to announce the appointment of Kirby Booker to the position of Fire Inspector for the Quesnel Fire Department.

Booker has been with the Quesnel Fire Department since 2015 as a volunteer firefighter and brings a wealth of knowledge in the firefighting field, both in structural fire and wildfire.

Under the general direction of the Fire Chief, the Fire Inspector is responsible for conducting fire inspections of public and private buildings and structures to ensure compliance with the Fire Services Act and Regulations and Fire Prevention Bylaws.

Kirby is now the Local Assistant to the Fire Commissioner under the Fire Services Act

“Kirby has a great deal of experience in fire suppression, emergency management, and strategic planning," says City of Quesnel Fire Chief Ron Richert. "Her knowledge in building construction, provincial and municipal acts, codes, and bylaws in relation to fire safety will be an asset in the Fire Inspector/Fire Prevention position”.

Kirby Booker’s official appointment to the position of Fire Inspector for the City will be effective as of May 17, 2021.
