The City of Williams Lake has earlier this year ordered CN Rail to rid itself on the wood chips & rail ties located behind the Station House Gallery, given the wood chips & rail ties constitute both a fire hazard to the City but also the fact that the rail ties, if lit on fire, would put out a toxic material that would compromise the City's air quality. The City has now twice given CN an extension which the latest one expiring by the end of this (September) month, if my memory serves me correctly. I have been consistently approached by community members' asking what is going on at the site. Hopefully, and with a little luck, CN will comply with the Fire Order issued by the City very soon.
